Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Sen. Sec. School

T.S.S.M. Senior Sec. School, established in the memory of Comrade Teja Singh who played an invaluable role in the struggle for freedom, is progressing by leaps and bounds not only in the field of education but also in sports and cultural activities. It is working under a registered organization. It was established in 1977 with an idea of quality education. It reached upto matriculation in 1986 and later raised upto 10+2 in 1995. This institution got recognition upto 10+2 by P.S.E.B. in 2005.

In 2013, The School was awarded by the Foreign Minister of India for being among 100 best schools of India for the contribution towards furthering value centricity, future readiness and excellence in education.
In 2008 school started Non- Medical & Medical streams. The credit for the meritorious results goes to the harmonious bondage between qualified teachers and the agile students. We hope to maintain glittering aims and objectives of the institution under the dynamic guidance of the Director S. Daanish Grewal, and the members of the management. The school will continue to attain laurels and also keep alive the sacrifice of Comrade Teja Singh Sutantar in the cause of freedom struggle and social reforms.

General Information

Curriculum & Teaching

1. The school follows the curriculum prescribed by PSEB, Mohali.
2. The school follows the text books printed by PSEB for all classes. In order to make Teaching - Learning process more meaningful and enjoyable, we follow activity based techniques which:
(a) Help the students to develop the power of observation, imagination, reasoning, and independent judgement.
(b) Help the students to develop competence and self discipline. Provide an atmosphere for creative expression.
(c) Help each & every child to improve regardless of his potential and aptitude. The teaching techniques are child centered, where in the capabilities and potentialities of each and every child are taken into consideration.

The school aims to turn students into:
(a) Thinking individuals who can articulate their thoughts effectively and compete successfully in an international environment.
(b) Explorative persons with a quest to search for knowledge beyond the class room.
